What is Remy / Remi Hair?
As far as hair extensions go, Remy/Remi hair is considered "celebrity hair", as it is the highest luxury grade available. The hair cuticles are completely aligned from root to tip and have been specially designed and processed in a way which leaves them intact to give it an extended life guarantee.
This process reduces the chances of matting, tangling and shedding even whilst the hair is wet (which are common problems with lower grade, less quality hair).
Remy/Remi hair wefts are so much more luxuriously silky, soft and glossy than standard human hair. TIPS TO LOOKING AFTER YOUR WEAVE
Even though extensions are 100% human hair, they are not receiving nutrients from the scalp like your own natural hair. The more heat you use on the hair extension the shorter the life span of the hair.
Treat your extensions with the same respect as you would with you own natural hair (remember, good quality hair extensions are not cheap!). Delicate aftercare and regular maintenance will keep your hair feeling and looking great for longer.
The first thing that you may notice is that immediately after the installation of the extensions, and for the next day or two your scalp may feel a little tender. This is normal and will go away by the third day at the latest. Rest assured that this is not a sign of a problem, but just because of the added weight of the hair.
After having your weave put in, try not to over-wash your hair. It is recommended you gently wash your hair once, so use a dry shampoo such as "Batiste" on any oily root areas. The longer you wait, the better it is for the longevity of the weave so as not to create the weave 'sagging effect'.
General Always hold the extensions whilst brushing to avoid placing tension on the roots, never back comb the wefted area.
Brush hair and de-tangle regularly and wash the front of your natural hair frequently if the scalp gets greasy.
Electric curling tongs and hot brushes may be used, but ensure that a good quality heat protector is used.
6- 8 weeks is the ideal length of time to wear your weave but it can be worn for up to 3 months depending on the care given and how quickly your hair grows. After this time they should be removed for re-dress.
Visits back to the salon should be made every 4 -6 weeks for a tightening and check up. |
